Image Use Policy

Share the Moment. Not the Screenshot.

We love watching families post these photos. Here is exactly what you can do with them, what you cannot, and how to get anything you need.

The Policy, In One Paragraph

Read This Part Twice

ISO Photo XP gallery images may not be screenshotted, copied, downloaded, reposted, published, shared, altered, or otherwise used without purchase or written consent. This includes any image displaying an ISO Photo XP watermark. The responsible party will be invoiced directly for any occurrence, and all organizations involved will be notified. If you need an image for a specific purpose, contact ISO Photo XP and we will work with you.

Gallery images are provided for viewing and purchase. That is the whole license until you buy one.

The Short Version

Green Light, Red Light

Once you have purchased an image, we want you loud about it. Before you have purchased it, the image is not yours to post.

Yes — After You Purchase

  • Post it anywhere you want: feed, story, group chat, the fridge.
  • Tag @iso.photoxp so we can repost and get your athlete more eyes on them.
  • Print it, frame it, hang it, gift it to grandparents.
  • Send it to family, coaches, and recruiters.
  • Order posters, banners, senior night pieces, and merch through us — our designers lay it out.
  • Programs: post the complimentary image set we send your organization — that one is free by design.

No — Without Purchase or Written Consent

  • Screenshotting a gallery image. This is the one we see most.
  • Screen recording, downloading, or saving a gallery preview.
  • Cropping, blurring, cloning, filtering, or using an app or AI tool to remove a watermark.
  • Reposting, publishing, or sharing a watermarked image anywhere.
  • Printing shirts, hats, banners, yard signs, or any merchandise on your own.
  • Paid advertising, sponsor materials, business accounts, or any commercial activity — that needs a license.
  • Sending an image to a designer, print shop, publication, or any third party without a written use release from us.

Manipulation & Watermarks

The Watermark Is Not a Suggestion

Removing It

Watermark Removal Is Theft

Cropping it out, blurring it, cloning over it, hiding it behind a sticker, or running the file through an app or AI tool to erase it — all the same thing. An image with the watermark taken off is stolen twice: once when it was taken, once when the credit was stripped.

Altering It

Edits That Misrepresent the Work

Purchased images come with a personal use license, not an editing license. Heavy filters, AI restyling, composites, and re-crops that get published as ISO Photo XP work need our written consent first. Ask and we will usually say yes.

Commercial Use

Business Use Needs a License

Buying an image buys you a personal use license. Anything that promotes a business or makes money is a different license, and we issue those every week.

Purchased images are licensed for personal, non-commercial use by the purchaser and their immediate family. A separate commercial license is required for paid advertising of any kind, sponsor materials and sponsor decks, business social media accounts, websites promoting a business, product packaging, merchandise offered for sale, recruiting services, publications and media outlets, and any other use that promotes an organization or generates revenue.

01

Tell Us the Plan

Email what you want to use, where it will appear, and for how long. No form, no runaround — a sentence is usually enough to get started.

02

We Quote the License

Commercial licenses are scoped to the use. A single sponsor thank-you post is not priced like a season-long ad campaign, and we do not pretend otherwise.

03

You Get It in Writing

You receive a written license naming the images, the permitted use, and the term. That document is what protects you if anyone ever asks.

Common Questions

Posters, Print Shops & Permissions

The questions we get most, and the short path to yes on each one.

Can I make a poster from an image?

Yes — once you have purchased the full-resolution digital download. That is the file a poster needs, and the gallery preview will not hold up at that size. We also design and print posters, banners, and wall art in house, and we would recommend letting our designers lay it out. Tell us the size and we will quote it.

Can I send an image to my own designer or print shop?

You need two things: the full-resolution digital download, and a written use release from ISO Photo XP naming who is receiving the file and what they are making. Releases are free and usually same-day. Handing a file to a third party without one is unauthorized use even if you paid for the image.

What is a written use release and how do I get one?

It is a short document from us stating exactly who may use a specific image, for what, and for how long. You need one any time an image leaves your hands — designer, print shop, publication, sponsor, school. Email info@isophotoxp.com with the image, who is receiving it, and what they are making.

Can I use an image in an ad or anything commercial?

Not without a commercial license. Purchased images carry a personal use license only. Paid advertising, sponsor materials, business social accounts, product packaging, merchandise for sale, recruiting services, and anything else that promotes a business or generates revenue all require a separate license. Tell us the plan and we will license it.

Can our sponsors use the team photos?

Sponsor use is commercial use and it needs a license. This is routine — we do it constantly, and there is usually a package that covers your whole season. Loop us in before the sponsor deck goes out and we will have it handled.

Can I print shirts or hats with my athlete on them?

Not on your own — merchandise from our images requires a license. But we make merch: shirts, hats, blankets, keychains, banners, yard signs. Tell us what you want and we will produce it, usually for less than a one-off custom order would cost you.

Can I edit or filter an image I purchased?

For your own personal use, adjust away. What needs our written consent is publishing a heavily altered version — filters, AI restyling, composites, aggressive re-crops — as ISO Photo XP work. And no image may be edited to remove, crop out, or obscure a watermark, ever.

Can a newspaper or recruiting site use my athlete’s photo?

Media and recruiting-service use requires a license, and reputable outlets already know that. Send them to info@isophotoxp.com. We turn these around fast, and we make sure your athlete is credited properly.

Can I use an image for a senior banner or graduation announcement?

Yes, and these are some of our favorite things to make. Senior banners, graduation announcements, memory mates, and magazine covers are products we produce start to finish. Purchase the design and we handle layout, printing, and delivery.

Straight Talk

Why We Are Saying This Out Loud

We would rather tell you plainly than surprise you with an invoice.

Part of what we enjoy about this work is watching parents, students, and families share the photos. We love seeing, reposting, and tagging images so these athletes get the exposure and recognition they deserve. That is why we send a set of images back to every organization to post on their own social media at no additional charge.

This year we started seeing something different. Parents — more often than athletes — screenshotting watermarked images out of the galleries and posting them without ever purchasing. Some printed their own shirts, hats, and merchandise from our images. One parent recently posted nearly $200 worth of images without buying a single one.

We get it. Everyone loves their kids. But to be crystal clear: this is stealing. If an image carries a visible watermark, or if someone has removed one, and that image gets used in any way, it was stolen.

Our photographers are professionals who work hard to make these days happen. We want to keep employing them, and they deserve to have their work protected.

What Happens Next

When an Image Is Used Without Purchase

We treat unauthorized use as digital theft. The chance to make it right before anything escalates is a courtesy, and we do extend it.

  1. 1

    We Reach Out

Usually one conversation ends it. The post comes down or the image gets purchased, and we all move on. This step is the courtesy, and we mean it.

  2. 2

    The Responsible Party Is Invoiced

Whoever used the image — parent, guardian, athlete, individual, or the contracted organization — is invoiced directly for every image and every use.

  3. 3

    The Organizations Are Notified

The booster club, program, school, and any governing body connected to the account are notified of the unauthorized use and who was responsible.

  4. 4

    We Pursue What Is Owed

Unpaid invoices go to collections. We reserve every remedy available to us under the U.S. Copyright Act, including DMCA takedown notices to the platform hosting the image.

The Easy Part

Need an Image? Just Ask.

We have not turned down a reasonable request yet. A senior night graphic, a sponsor thank-you, a memorial post, a recruiting packet, a budget that is tight this month — tell us what you need and what it is for, and we will work with you on access and pricing. Asking is free. Taking is not.

What Is Changing

Stronger Protection on the Galleries

Going forward, gallery previews carry heavier watermarking across the full image and lower resolution. We hate having to do it. The galleries looked better before, and a handful of people are the reason they will not.

Full-Image Watermarks
Low-Res Previews
Purchase Unlocks Full Quality

For Booster Clubs, Coaches & Directors

Please Relay This Twice

We contract directly with booster clubs and coaches, which makes you our client and our line to the families.

Share the policy statement above with athletes, parents, guardians, and families connected to your program two times: once before Media Day, and again the day the gallery is released. That single step prevents almost every problem on this page.

Ask Before You Post

One message saves everybody a hard conversation. Tell us what you need and we will find a way to get it to you.
